Financial Assistance
Can Assist Griffith provides financial assistance to Griffith people affected by cancer.
We understand that families struggle to cope with a reduced income as a result of a cancer diagnosis and that they face increased expenses from travel, accommodation and medical costs.
How to Apply for Financial Assistance
- Complete the request form.
- Attach a letter from your health care professional (i.e. local doctor, oncology social worker or oncology nurse).
- Attach a copy of the unpaid bill (or a note requesting food or petrol vouchers).
- Send the request for financial assistance and your supporting documents to your local branch.
Please note completion of the request form does not automatically guarantee financial assistance.
Accommodation Assistance
Lilier Lodge was purpose built by Can Assist and the Cancer Council NSW, together with the support of local and regional communities.
Lilier Lodge provides accommodation for people undergoing cancer treatment at nearby facilities including the Riverina Cancer Care Centre, Wagga Wagga Rural Referral Hospital and Calvary Hospital. When vacancies allow, we extend our hospitality to people travelling for other medical appointments.
Lilier Lodge is an accommodation facility in Wagga Wagga that offers comfort and serenity, plus support during a very stressful period. The Lodge also provides a drop-in service for cancer patients who travel daily for their treatment and would like a cup of tea in our lounge while they wait for their transport home.
Standard Rates
These rates apply for guests travelling for medical appointments.
Single Room $70.00 per night
Double Room $85.00 per night
Extra people are an added $15.00 each per night.
Commercial Rates
Guests travelling to Wagga for other reasons:
Single Room $100.00 per night
Double Room $115.00 per night
Extra people are an added $15.00 per night.
1 Bedroom Fully Self-Contained Apartment
For guests travelling for treatment the tariff is $110.00 per night. This tariff is based on 2 people, extra people are an added $15.00 each per night.
For commercial guests the tariff is $125.00 per night. This tariff is based on 2 people, extra people are an added $15.00 each per night.
IPTAAS Rates
If you live 100km or more (one way) from Wagga Wagga and have been referred by your Doctor to Wagga for Specialist treatment, then you may be eligible for financial assistance for accommodation and travel costs.
